Kasa 2Nd Street Austin

Pros: Fabulous modern apartment with great views in a great location in downtown Austin (a lovely city!).

Great apartment, clean and comfortable. Be cautious of the surprise cleaning staff when checking out

Pros: Excellent location, comfortable bed and well appointed amenities. We had a fabulous view and loved that it came with condiments, laundry detergent and two sets of towels and linen for our 5 night stay.

Cons: Checkout was at 11am but at 10:15am the cleaners literally, without knocking, let themselves into our apartment as we were in the shower and getting ready to leave. We heard them open the door and ran out saying we had not checked out yet. It is absolutely unacceptable to not knock before entering and makes me concerned about access to the apartments when we are not there. Surely there is a system that lets them know who has not yet checked out.

Great apartment and location!

Pros: The apartment itself is great, the entrance and hallways felt very safe, the apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Having access to a washer and dryer was great. The balcony is also a lovely touch. The bed was super comfy! Also, the swimming pool was great! All round, this apartment and its location was brilliant.

Cons: A few of the towels were stained. The getting into the apartment can be a bit of a process but really this just increased the safely of the building.

Amazing location - great stay!

Pros: The location cannot be beat. In the heart of the 2nd Street district and very close to the Congress Street Bridge (for bat viewing) and great restaurants, walking and shopping. Also close to Lady Bird Lake with great opportunities for kayaking, boat rentals and tours. The apartment is beautiful and has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, large bedroom. pull out couch and balcony. There is a beautiful pool and work out area in the building and the building felt very safe.

Cons: The building itself is a bit difficult to find and there was not a lot of info on where to park etc. Key cards need to be used for the elevator and to enter and exit the building and parking garage. On the subject of parking we had some difficulties getting out of the garage because the machine would not accept 3 of my credit cards (no idea why bc they worked everywhere else) The parking attendant told me the only way I could get out was if I asked a random stranger in the garage to pay the almost $50 on their credit card to let me out !?! Eventually we spoke to someone with some sense and we were allowed to leave but only after much negotiation and many many cars lined up behind us. I would say car rental is most likely not needed because Uber/Waymo is plentiful and you can walk to many places and it is almost $50 per night to park!. My only other complaint would be 2 towels for 3 ppl for 4 days. However there is a washer/dryer with detergent should you need to do laundry.

Stylish, convenient and great amenities

Pros: We always stay at this Kasa, great location, stylish apartment and great gym. I’m a big fan of Kasas (save for the one in New York) and as someone that travels a lot, do tend to chose them. The kitchen has a coffee machine, blender, and lots of stuff to be able to cook in the apartment. Lots of towels, laundry detergent and great/easy parking. We even went to the cinema one night this time. Don’t be fooled by that lovely pool though - it NEVER heats up. However, it doesn’t put us off staying here at all, cannot recommend enough for people who like style, convenience and being able to walk everywhere. I love the Kasa in Austin and it’s a huge part of the vacation for us. It makes it even happier.

It was a great stay, and the staff downstairs were wonderful.

Pros: Location, apartment size and the facilities - the washing machine and dryer were a huge plus. the balcony and the view were amazing.

Cons: The bed linen for the sofa bed had holes in it - everything from the sheet to the blanket and pillow case had tears. This was unappealing.

Nice apartment, well equipped and a good location. Customer service was slightly disappointing.

Pros: Good location, walking distance from 6th Street live music venues, clean and comfortable, lovely view from the balcony. Fantastic pool facilities.

Cons: When we arrived there was no furniture on the balcony and no ironing board. We had to contact the support team who were able to rectify this, but it did take 24 hours. Parking is expensive at $30/night and although we only need the parking space for one night (rental car hire on last day) we were told that we would have to pay the full $120 for our full 4-night stay. This was not very customer friendly and hence the slightly lower rating than could be expected if we didn't experience the above issues.
