A luxury oasis in a very cool city
Pros: The most incredible and luxe stay whereby the team could not be more high level, friendly and hospitable. It’s true what they say about Texas and their southern hospitality. I couldn’t believe the housekeeping team who come 2-3 times a day and offer the most beautiful turn down service.
Cons: I couldn’t fault them

Wonderful minus pool roaches
Pros: Good location, nice pool and hot tub, good restaurants, really cute Christmas setup. The chocolate chip cookies are amazing, try them!
Cons: Cockroaches running around the pool and hot tub area. I’m from a warmer climate place so I’m used to it where I live but it was bothering others and was a bit gross for a hotel of this price range.

Love the pool area and the hotel, particularly the staff. We’ve stayed at the hotel 5 times in the last couple of months
Pros: Great room, great pool and plenty of sunbeds available. The staff are very welcoming. I’d like to mention Colin on reception- he is outstanding, very professional, efficient and friendly.
Cons: Construction near the hotel.

Pros: The hotel is amazing ;) I stay in a lot of places around the world & this is one of the best hotels ive had the privilege of staying at.. The staff, room, facilities & location all exceeded my expectations.
Cons: I can't think of anything to be honest, maybe if they can slow time down :)

Staff were wonderful & cool city views!
Pros: We arrived early and were able to go straight to our room, which was amazing! All staff we encountered were so helpful and friendly. The pool is fantastic, the room was spacious and the bed comfortable.
Cons: The air-conditioning unit in our room was super noisy. Perhaps we had a dud? We were exhausted after a day of exploring so slept through it, but if you are a light sleeper - be warned!

Nice, but services could be a lot better and explained more clearly upon arrival.
Pros: I was there for SXSW so there was very little time spent in the hotel. However I found it to be very quiet, with incredible rooms, great views and excellent cleanliness.
Cons: I think there is a daily charge for use of some services, regardless if you even use them or not. Maybe $35 a night but I can't remember. For this fee you apparently get to spend $15 on food or drink or something. However I was never given ANY details about this whatsoever, so I essentially paid $35 a night and received nothing in return. Furthermore, the WIFI is sketchy. They try to get you to pay for it by the day. I had to ask at the front desk for a password free of charge because I was not going to pay for Wifi. On the morning of check out, at 6am no less, they cut off my Wifi while I was in the middle of a work meeting zoom, utterly bizarre. It's a great hotel but keep an eye on these things because it feels really strange.

The most exceptional hotel with the most exceptional staff.
Pros: Everything! Especially the staff. It is incredible how friendly, obliging, ans willing to help they are. We had an incident at the pool with glass shards and our daughter got hurt. But the way the staff and the manager reacted was really nice. We’ll see how this matter continues to be resolved, but I am sure that we will find a suitable solution.

Overall, apart from the Air-con fiasco, the place is magnificent, and can't fault it.
Pros: Pool is fantastic. Although it would be good if the pool bar stayed open later. It does on Fridays, but when you are there on holiday - every day is a Friday! EDIT - Oct 21, 2024. Just wanted to say that I did hear from the wonderful staff on this issue, and was able to discuss the concerns outlined below. Can forgive the oversight, given how incredibly hectic and crazy that day was with the burst main. Have discussed with them, and am happy with the resolution that was offered, which is more than fair. Fairmont will be the hotel I choose next time I'm in Ausin!
Cons: There was a burst water main in the building on the last day we were there. It flooded the lifts, and shorted the Air-Con, so our last night was spent in, what I can only describe as a Sauna. I complained to staff upon checking out, and they assured me a manager would be in touch. It's been 7 weeks, and I'm still waiting. I get it wasn't their fault, and these things happen - but I also don't expect to pay full price to stay in a room that is 100 degrees. Would have been nice for them to reach out and discuss my concerns.

Overall we enjoyed our stay but not cheap.
Pros: Central location. Personal use fridge was provided on request. Nice view from the pool on the 7th floor. Towels provided at the pool.Check-in and out was easy
Cons: Because of our upgrade a free courtesy car was supposed to be available for journeys up to a mile. My son lived a mile and a half away so that was deemed too far. The car was also out of action on 2 days of our 4 day stay so we actually only got using it once.
