Menger Hotel

We loved our stay at this beautiful hotel and loved the walkable location.

Pros: Location was fantastic. Close proximity to Alamo and the River walk. Beautiful well kept historic hotel.

Cons: When new to the area, parking a car at this hotel is tricky. Construction going on and google maps has not been updated. Important to note that it is paid parking not free parking at this hotel. A bit pricey to park if unaware. Still worth it to be at this convenient location.

Great time spent exploring San Antonio with family.

Pros: Beautiful building with a rich history sitting next door to the Alamo. Beds were comfortable and our room spacious.

Cons: Lots of building work going on right outside our window (nothing to do with the hotel.) There were no sheer curtains at the window so the heavy curtains had to be kept closed at all times for privacy. There wasn’t an overhead light in the room so it was quite dark and gloomy which was a shame.

Perfect stay for visiting San Antonio

Pros: Location excellent. The Alamo and Riverside walk with many excellent bars and restaurants. We can recommend Brenner’s which was perfect. The decor was very stylish and reminiscent of the early days of the hotel. The pool area was also great with a good size pool, many sunbeds and pool towels. The temperature was good. The staff on reception were very helpful , polite and efficient

Cons: The double bed in our room was on the small side and quite a hard base. We ended up in the middle! There wasn’t really room to open up 2 suitcases. Valet parking is offered by the hotel but it was expensive and awkward to get to. We stayed in a public car park which was £20 for 24hrs. We had to walk to the hotel with suitcases but it was only 5 mins.

Amazing hotel

Pros: An amazing historic hotel in a phenomenal location right next to the Alamo and close the the river walk. The staff are helpful and the rooms are extremely comfortable.

Lots of history and in a great location

Pros: Great hotel with so much history and character, and a great reputation for being haunted, although we didn’t see any ghosts lol. Friendly staff, we asked to check in early and they had our room ready for us with no hesitation. The room was also very comfortable but our room faced a building site and they wasn’t mentioned beforehand.

Cons: The parking in the area is extremely expensive, we used valet parking from the hotel and this was also $50 per night so can be costly if staying for a few nights.

Simply the best hotel in San Antonio

Pros: Absolutely beautiful hotel. We stayed in the Babe Ruth Suite, which was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Brilliant location and can’t wait to return.

Cons: Parking was a little expensive, but not out of sync with other hotels and car parks in the city. Breakfast was perhaps a little disappointing, but perfectly acceptable.

Pros: It is a hotel with a lot of character. Old fashioned but clean and comfy.

Cons: It is hard for me to get used to the fact that most hotels in the U.S. do not offer daily room cleaning service. You have to demand it.

The perfect place to stay when sightseeing in San Antonio

Pros: The location could not be better, right in Alamo Plaza, next door to the Alamo and a half block from The Riverwalk!

The location and the historical charm of the hotel make it an excellent choice to stay in San Antoni

Pros: Spacious and comfortable room. The location of the property was excellent - all amenities within easy walking distance. The historic charm and style of the hotel were first class. Would highly recommend to others.

Cons: We had no complaints over our three night stay.
