Hampton Inn and Suites Austin University Capitol

Pros: New and cosy hotel with spacious rooms, accessible rooftop terrace with a swimming pool, and a rich breakfast. The WiFi was free of charge and reasonably fast.

Cons: As a European, I was quite shocked that pretty much all tableware (spoons, forks, knives, bowls, cups) at breakfast was disposable.

Pros: Clean, confortable, good location which permits doing a lot by foot and the breakfast was ok. Staff was really nice.

Pros: We stayed here for 8 nights, together with our daughter, before the university move-in. It was a perfect experience from all points of view.

Pros: The breakfast is very good with good variety, the flexibility in eating and reaching food was very good the staff were good and constantly cleaning the area. Rooms are big and comfortable with kitchen area and microwave, tea coffee facilities. The hotel location is good and bus stop is just across the street and the shops in walking distance if you like to walk. the room needs updating and to get more cleaning attention.

Cons: I did not like seeing dogs in the breakfast/eating area, it is unhygienic for me. I did not like that water bottles are not delivered daily to the room also there was a time when the water was not available at reception. I did not like the cleaning service not coming daily to replace coffee cups and coffee bags also to replace towels. I stayed 4 nights and no one came to clean the room or change towels until I asked the cleaning staff on my room door to do so. The rooms need updating, for the cost it is a bit pricy. I did not have a car so I did not use valet parking.

Great location and value in downtown Austin!

Pros: Great location few blocks away from the University Campus and the Capitol. Also walking distance to many bars and restaurants in dowtonwn. Good complimentary breakfast and spacious rooms

Cons: Parking fee, $40 a night I think it is a bit expensive for the location

Nice location.

Pros: The location was very convenient, walking distance to the Capitol. The staff was helpful, and the breakfast was OK. We had a king studio suite with a balcony, which was very comfortable for our family of four. It had a nice view of the Capitol.

Cons: The swimming pool closes at 22:00. It would have been nice if the closing time was later so we could swim and relax after a busy day visiting the city. Parking is pricey.

Pros: Rose on reception was most helpful upon arrival credit to the company

Cons: Perhaps hot water could have been available during the evening at hotel as being English we are always drinking tea.

Nice to attend events nearby.

Pros: Location, attention, warm environment. Comfortable room. Breakfast. We went to a music festival and we had a very good experience here. They have parking, always a plus.

Cons: It was an awkard layout of this specific room… lots of open space, bed in front of the rays of sun in the window… but not bad only different. Maybe I got the handicapped room…

Comfortable and easy

Pros: Affordable hotel in a very good location. I had a pleasant breakfast (included), the staff was nice and the room was big and comfortable.

Cons: Expensive parking, but easy access and good availability.
